On September 1st the JCC launched its newest endeavor, becoming a Jewish Community Center Without Walls. The shifting demographics of the Jewish population in Charleston prompted this change in how the we offer our programming, changing from a one stop shop to a mobile programming organization that brings Jewish content both cultural and community oriented to all areas of the Charleston community. We will continue to offer our most successful programs including: Charleston Jewish Bookfest, Kids Fair, and Camp Baker. The opportunity offered us by going “Without Walls” means we will be able to offer even more programs and services to both the Jewish community and community at large and make this content accessible to everyone! Inside our Fall/Winter program guide you will find all of the different activities we will offer around Charleston, from concerts to senior activities, small group meetups to large scale events, we have something for everyone.
Thank you for your interest and your continued support of the Jewish Community Center Without Walls.
What has become of the JCC building? Was it sold or is it being sold?
The building at 1645 Wallenberg was sold in September. It currently houses Synagogue Dor Tikvah and Dining In Inc. We are now located at 706 Or leans Road in West Ashley.
