Families turned out for the Summerville CommUNITY Back to School Bash on Sunday August 20, 2017 for food, haircuts, school supplies, sports demonstrations, jump castles and more.
The bash was sponsored by Build-A-Brother, the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Club, We-R1, Community Resource Center, the Summerville North Area Jewish Community, and the Charleston Jewish Community Center Without Walls.
A highlight of the event was the delightful reading fun that Sharyn Bluestein from PJ Library gave to the children as well as helping them make bookmarks. Many non profit service agencies and afterschool programs exhibited along with Food Trucks, the Bookmobile, and much more! The planning for the 2018 Back to School CommUNITY event is now underway with co-chair Amy Tabak from the Summerville Jewish Community as one of the co-leaders.
